Use this page (when no list of values is associated with a parameter) to automatically determine the display position of the wildcard character (%) with a specified parameter value in the Parameters Needed field on the "Edit Parameters page". For example, to specify all parameter values that begin with the letter C, you would select 'Starts with' from the Search by field, enter C into the Search for field and press Go.

Search by

Use this drop down list to specify how to match parameter values. For example, choose Contains from the Search by drop down list, and enter C in the Search for field to specify parameter values that contain the letter 'C'. Available values to search by are as follows:

• Contains

  Use this option to add the wildcard (%) before and after the text string entered in the Search for field. For example, %C%.

• Starts with

  Use this option to add the wildcard (%) after the text string entered in the Search for field. For example, C%.

• Ends with

  Use this option to add the wildcard (%) before the text string entered in the Search for field. For example, %C.

• Is Exactly

  Use this option to not add the wildcard to the text string entered in the Search for field. For example, C.

Search for

Use this field to enter the text string to match against. For example, enter 'C' here and choose Starts With in the Search by drop down list to find parameters that begin with the letter 'C'. Note that this field is case sensitive.

Go

Use this button to display the text string that you entered along with an appropriately positioned wildcard character (%) in the Parameters Needed field in the "Edit Parameters page". If you click Go when the Search for field is empty, then an empty string is displayed in the Parameters Needed field.
